LOVE OF A LIFETIME CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES
These are the official rules for the 2010 LOVE OF A LIFETIME CONTEST (the “Contest”). Events at ISM is the organizer of the Contest and PHILLY.COM is the media sponsor. The other contest sponsors are: Brandywine Valley Talent, Kevin York, Independence Seaport Museum, Party Rental, Dave Williams, Janice Martin Couture, Beautiful Blooms, Custom Songs by Erik, Towne Park, Two Paper Dolls, Henry A. Davidsen, Eclatante Event Design, Lucky Strike Lanes – Philadelphia, Doughmain Baked Goods, Mirassou Winery & Capital Wine & Spirits, The Painted Truffle, Cutting Edge DJ's, Safian & Rudolph Jewelers, Hyatt, Ron Jaworski Management, A Basket Case, Bailine Body Sculpting, Genevieve Forsyth, Society Hill Dance Company, Eagle Transportation. The grand prize is a wedding reception, or a reception for a similar union, to a couple who will be chosen by registered readers of PHILLY.COM and the contest judges. The reception shall consist of:

International award-winning filmmaker Dave Williams and one of his editors will personally be on hand to create a special short, HD film for the winning couple. Additional editing for a longer film is available at a 10% discount to the lucky couple.

There will be one contest winner. The value of the contest prize is approximately $90,000. There will be no prize substitutions. There will be no cash substitutions or cash prizes. The winner is responsible for all taxes on the contest prize. The Contest prize may not be transferred.
1. PRELIMINARY INFORMATION
Anyone considering submitting an application to participate in this event should read all of the information below for eligibility rules, requirements of participation and an explanation of what the wedding couple will receive. Please note that all entrants must be willing to, among other things:
- Winner must make themselves available to be interviewed and videotaped by PHILLY.COM, provide all of the information requested in the entry form, allow PHILLY.COM to conduct a background check on them, to have all their personal statements and photos published on PHILLY.com.
- The wedding couple must agree, among other things: to make themselves available to visit the various sponsors of this contest, participate in promotions for this Contest and the sponsors of the contest with no renumeration, to be prepared to blog weekly throughout the course of the planning with vendors, and to be married or united, on a date chosen by PHILLY.COM, currently scheduled for Sunday, May 23, 2010. Contest entrants agree that that contest sponsors and PHILLY.COM readers will decide upon numerous elements of the wedding, without input from the couple, to be married at a venue to be selected and provided by a contest sponsor.
The requirements detailed in these Official Rules cannot be waived or changed except by the Contest Organizer, and entrants who cannot perform these requirements or make the necessary time commitment, [or whose religion does not permit a marriage outside of a religious dwelling] should not submit an entry form.
PLEASE NOTE: This opportunity is open only to currently engaged couples, who are legal residents of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, each of whom is at least 18 years of age as of January 1, 2010 and each of whom complies with the additional requirements set forth in these Rules. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
2. TO ENTER
To enter, please fill out and then print the application form available at www.PHILLY.COM. The application form requires a personal statement from you regarding your name, finace’s name, phone number, address, a brief description of how you knew you were meant for each other, a brief description of the proposal, a brief description of how you met, how long you and your partner have been together, what famous couple you relate to, what famous person you’d want to invite to the wedding and why you deserve to win. The personal statement must be no longer than 1,000 words. By entering, you agree that your personal statement may be published on PHILLY.COM and in promotions and advertisements for PHILLY.COM. Statements must be original, truthful, unpublished, created solely by the submitting entrants, must not have been submitted in any other competition and must not infringe upon any rights of any third party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, and rights of privacy and publicity. By entering you grant PHILLY.COM a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use your personal statement, and photographs and videotapes of you, for use in all media now known or hereafter devised. Your entry will not be acknowledged or returned. Each couple may only enter one completed application form with a personal statement.
MAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Print your name, address, telephone numbers (daytime and evening) and e-mail address on a label, and affix the label to your statement. Send BOTH the statement and your application form (“Application Materials”) to the following address:

By completing the application, entrants agree to receive e-mails and/or other materials from PHILLY.COM regarding this Event. Neither the Contest organizer nor any of the Contest Sponsors shall be responsible for any lost, mislaid, or misdirected entries.
3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To enter and to be eligible to receive the PHILLY.COM wedding, entrants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must prove to be an actual engaged couple
- Prepared to hold the wedding on May 23, 2010
- Have access to a computer
- Prepared to blog about prizes at least one (1) post per week, encouraged to do so more
- Must take photos at vendor and mention vendor in appropriate blog post
- Each individual of a couple submitting a completed application form must be at least 18 years of age as of May 23, 2010;
- Each individual must be a legal resident of the United States
- Each individual must be of good moral character, must have never been convicted of a crime of any nature (other than moving violations of a misdemeanor type that did not involve personal injury, drugs or alcohol), and must have nothing in their background that would be an embarrassment to the contest organizer or sponsors. Neither of the individuals may be an elected official or may be currently running for any political office (local, state or federal);
- Each applicant must be willing to undergo a background check and be willing to sign waiver forms authorizing the release of personal and background information;
- Each applicant must be willing to have his or her wedding ceremony performed at the reception venue; each applicant must be willing to sign an affidavit attesting to the truth of the facts in the application form and personal statement and attesting that each applicant meets all the eligibility requirements.
Selected entrants must also be willing to undertake the following:
- To be interviewed by telephone, and to either appear in a videotape or to submit a videotape in which the entrant couple appears;
- To make themselves available to travel to Philadelphia, PA as many as 30 times during the contest; To make themselves available to attend fittings and to engage in public appearances and in photo shoots, as needed.
- The entrants selected as the wedding couple must be prepared to be legally married, or otherwise joined in a wedding to be broadcast on television and organized by PHILLY.COM. Entrants must be willing to accept choices made by PHILLY.COM website users and the contest judges as to significant elements of the wedding, such as: choice of wedding attire and wedding party attire for couple, cake, flowers, music, wedding rings, wedding venue and scheduling, and other elements to be furnished by and in the sole discretion of the Contest organizer.
- Entrants must agree that, if selected as the winner, they will be married on May 23, 2010 at the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia, PA . This date is subject to change in the sole discretion of the Contest Organizer.
- Entrants must agree, if they are among the preliminary group of couples identified (see Selection Process, below), to make themselves exclusively available to the Contest Organizer and sponsors for publicity and promotion, and must agree that they will not allow interviews by other media outlets, including television, magazines, newspapers, radio, and internet, unless authorized by PHILLY.COM, from the time the 25 finalists are announced, through the final on-air appearance of the wedding couple.
Employees of the Contest Organizer, PHILLY.COM, and the other Contest Sponsors, and their respective affiliates, as well as members of their immediate families and households (including children and siblings) are not eligible.
If at any point during the Contest the Contest judges deems an entrant or finalist couple ineligible, the judges may disqualify that couple and at its sole and complete discretion.
SELECTION PROCESS
Users of PHILLY.COM will select a preliminary group of 50 couples from eligible entries (completed application form plus personal statement) submitted. Selection criteria used by the judges shall include: Answers to the contest survey questions: When you knew it was meant to be, how you met, when you knew it was meant to be, why you deserve to win;
From the preliminary group of couples, PHILLY.COM will then select 25 semifinalist couples, based on the above factors. These semifinalist couples will be required as a condition of continued eligibility to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Waiver of Liability, Publicity Release and.an acknowledgement of the contest rules The semifinalist couples may be subject to background checks to verify and determine additional information about each of the individuals. The winner will then be selected by registered users of Philly.com. In the event of a tie, the Contest judges will select the winner from the entrants selected by Philly.com users.
If the wedding couple is disqualified or otherwise unable to fulfill the requirements asked of them, a second couple from among the finalist couples, selected by the Contest will be awarded the Contest prize.
6. LOVE OF A LIFETIME CONTEST PRIZE
The couple selected to receive the PHILLY.COM wedding will receive and participate in a wedding or similar union ceremony and shall participate in a reception following that ceremony. The couple is responsible for officiating their own ceremony. The Contest Organizer in its sole discretion shall determine and/or approve the length, venue, content and nature of the wedding ceremony. The components of the Contest Prize shall be selected from choices made available from the Contest sponsors and shall be selected by users of PHILLY.COM.
All members of the wedding party and other guests invited to attend the wedding ceremony must be able to travel and attend the wedding during the week ending May 23, 2010 and must complete a liability and publicity release.
The Contest Organizer further reserves the right to postpone or cancel the Prize, in its sole discretion, if it determines that cancellation would be in the best interests the Winner and guests. n all events, the Contest organizer reserves the right to substitute the wedding and honeymoon or elements thereof with other items of equal or greater value at its sole discretion. The wedding couple shall be responsible for applicable taxes, upgrades, personal incidentals, and any other expenses not specified herein, including aspects of the ceremony and/or reception not included in the Contest prize.
7. DISQUALIFICATION
MULTIPLE ENTRIES RECEIVED FROM ANY PERSONS WILL VOID ALL SUCH ADDITIONAL ENTRIES.
Neither the Contest organizer nor any Contest sponsor is not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind, for inaccurate transcription of entry information, for errors in any promotional or marketing materials, for errors in these rules, for any human or electronic error, including but not limited to the administration of this Event or Prizes, or for entries that are stolen, misdirected, garbled, delayed by computer transmissions, lost, late, damaged, or postage due.
All entries, including application forms and photos, become the property of the Contest Organizer and Contest sponsors and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Caution: Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any online service or web site or undermine the legitimate operation of PHILLY.COM is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, PHILLY.COM reserves the right to seek damages and/or other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. DISCLAIMER
All entrants and participants assume all liability for any injury or damages caused or claimed to be caused by their participation in this Event, including the acceptance of the Contest prize. All entrants and participants release the Contest Organizer and all other Sponsors and their respective advertising and promotion agencies, their parent, subsidiary, affiliate and joint venture companies, as well as their respective officers, directors, and employees, from any such liability.
Neither the Contest Organizer, the Contest Sponsors nor any of their respective advertising and promotion agencies, their parent, subsidiary, affiliate and joint venture companies, or their respective officers, directors, and employees assume any responsibility for any injury or damage to entrant’s or to any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from entering or downloading materials or software. Neither the Contest Organizer, the Contest Sponsors nor any of their respective advertising and promotion agencies, their parent, subsidiary, affiliate and joint venture companies, or their respective officers, directors, and employees assume any responsibility for technical, hardware, software, or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the user or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this event or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this event.
Completion of an entry form constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use entrants’ name, city, state, likeness and/or voice for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation and constitutes agreement by entrants to be bound by these Official Rules.
9. ADDITIONAL RULES
The Contest Organizer retains the right to terminate the entry period prior to its scheduled end date and to choose among entries received prior to the date of such termination.
Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the judges, whose decisions are final. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from the Contest. The Contest reserves the right to permanently disqualify any person it believes has intentionally violated these rules.
Except where prohibited, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and PHILLY.COM in connection with the Event, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania , without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. If any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to the Official Rules, or the Event cannot be otherwise resolved, it shall be resolved in the courts of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Entrants understand that all taxes on the prize components are the winner’s responsibility.

GENERAL CONTEST RULES: No purchase necessary. One valid entry per contestant.
You must be 18 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
Winners will be notified by phone and e-mail. If a winner is unreachable after two (2) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If Philly.com cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Each person is allowed 1 (one) vote per day (24 hours). Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided. Creation of, and voting under, multiple registered accounts will result in votes being voided and termination of registration.
Philly.com and Events at ISM reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 60 mile radius of the affiliate's' office.
Employees of Philly.com and Events at ISM, their respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Entrants further grant to Philly.com and Events at ISM the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
Philly.com and Events at ISM reserve the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright, UPICKEM, Inc., and/or Philly.com. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
UPICKEM, Philly.com, and Events at ISM are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.
All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.
Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
